How much does dog training cost in Calgary?
A private session is one hour of coaching. Day Training is five weekdays of one-on-one training, with your dog home every night. Board and train is a stay of two to six weeks with daily one-on-one training. This page puts the published number beside each format, explains what makes one cost more than another, and shows how to read a quote from anyone, including us.

Format by format
Each format carries one published price.
A private session is one hour with you and your dog together, and it ends with a written weekly plan. Day Training is $800 plus GST per week: drop-off between 10 am and 12 pm, pick-up between 5 and 7 pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour go-home lesson each week. Board and train runs from $1,865 for two weeks to $5,760 for six, with daily one-on-one training for the whole stay.
Read any quote, ours included, by what sits inside it. Ask whether the equipment is bundled: our on-leash programs send home a slip lead and training collar, and the off-leash programs include a remote collar. Ask whether there is a handover lesson at the end and whether follow-up sessions cost extra. Why it costs this
Where the dollars go, day by day.
Divide the published totals by the days they cover. A $800 week of Day Training is $160 per weekday. Two weeks of On-Leash Foundations at $1,865 is about $133 per day, and the longer board and train programs work out between roughly $130 and $145 per day by the same division. Those figures are arithmetic on published totals, not a daily rate we sell. What changes between formats is how many days of training your dog receives and where the dog sleeps.
Board and train costs the most because it covers the most: daily one-on-one training, a structured routine, socialization, enrichment, updates to you, a handover lesson and free follow-up sessions, with your dog in clean, comfortable accommodations with daily exercise and individual care. It is not the right buy for every dog. A private session or a week of Day Training is the smaller purchase, and the consultation is where we recommend a format, including the smaller one when it is enough.

How much is a dog trainer per hour in Calgary?
Our private sessions are one hour, one-on-one, and each ends with a written weekly plan. We do not quote a citywide hourly range, because a rate without its inclusions tells you very little about value.
How much does puppy training cost?
Puppy Fundamentals, our three-week board and train for puppies, is $2,775 plus GST and includes crate comfort, leash manners, structured socialization, take-home gear and a follow-up session within 60 days. Private puppy coaching is a one-hour session. Our puppy training cost page breaks both down.
Why is dog training so expensive?
Because a price covers days of one-on-one work, and the longer formats cover many of them. A board and train includes daily training, a structured routine, socialization, enrichment, updates to you and a handover lesson across every day of the stay, while a private session gives you one coached hour plus a written plan. The inclusions, not the headline number, are what to compare.
Do you have cheaper group classes?
No. Everything at Northline K9 is one-on-one, so there is no group rate. The smallest way to start with us is one private session, which comes with a written weekly plan, and the consultation is where we say which format your dog needs.
