Get to know your trainer
About Kaitlin, the Calgary dog trainer who listens first.
Thirteen years with dogs. Six of them training professionally. And a founding belief that training should create more freedom for both ends of the leash.

The story
Thirty dogs at a time will teach you to listen.
Kaitlin's career started in a dog daycare, managing groups of thirty-plus dogs at once. You learn fast in a room like that. You learn to read canine body language instantly, to understand group dynamics, and to catch the subtle signs of stress long before they become a problem.
That reading is the foundation of everything Northline K9 does today. Six years of professional training later, with apprenticeships in Ontario covering on-leash manners, in-home etiquette, behaviour modification, and off-leash training, the method is still the same: listen first, then train.

The three pillars
What every program is built on.
Clear communication
Dogs relax when the rules are clear. We teach with markers and rewards your dog actually understands. It becomes a real, two-way language between you and your dog.
Real-life reliability
Sidewalks, parks, your front door. Training that only works in a quiet room is not training. We build it in the real places your dog struggles, until calm is the habit.
Long-term support
Every program comes with follow-up sessions, and we stay reachable after graduation. The goal is not three good weeks. It is a good decade.
The soft spot
The anxious ones are her favourites.
The nervous ones, the barkers, the lungers, the dogs other people call difficult. Kaitlin has a special passion for anxious and insecure dogs, helping them build confidence and trust with their owners. They are not broken. They are just not being heard yet.
