NE · Sound familiar?

Good dogs do all of these.

  • Pulls like a sled dog
  • Barks at the window all day
  • Recall only works with treats in sight
  • Lunges at other dogs on leash
  • Jumps on every guest
  • Anxious the moment you leave

None of this makes your dog a bad dog. It makes them a dog, one who has not been shown a better way yet. That part is our job.

E · How we train

Training is a conversation, not a correction.

01

Clear communication

Dogs relax when the rules are clear. We teach with markers and rewards your dog actually understands. It becomes a real, two-way language between you and your dog.

02

Real-life reliability

Sidewalks, parks, your front door. Training that only works in a quiet room is not training. We build it in the real places your dog struggles, until calm is the habit.

03

Long-term support

Every program comes with follow-up sessions, and we stay reachable after graduation. The goal is not three good weeks. It is a good decade.

W · About Kaitlin

She learned to listen before she learned to train.

Thirteen years around dogs, starting in a daycare reading the body language of thirty dogs at a time, taught Kaitlin something most trainers skip: dogs are always telling you how they feel. Training works when you listen first.

That is why the nervous ones, the barkers, the lungers, the dogs other people call difficult, are the ones she loves most.

The journey north

From "help" to off-leash, one bearing at a time.

Every Northline dog walks the same route, only the pace changes.

The consultation

A relaxed conversation about your dog, your goals, and which program honestly fits, even if it is the smaller one.

The welcome package

Prerequisites, a crate-training guide, and your waiver, so training day arrives with zero surprises.

The training weeks

Your dog lives the routine they are learning: daily one-on-one training, structure, socialization, and enrichment, with updates to you along the way.

The handover lesson

You learn everything your dog learned: the commands, the tools, and the why. The habits survive the car ride home.

Follow-ups, for keeps

Free follow-up sessions in the real places your dog struggles, and a trainer who stays reachable for the life of your dog.

NW · Where we train

Questions owners ask

Honest answers, before you even ask.

What is relationship-based dog training?

Training shaped around your individual dog, their needs, temperament, and character, using high-reward activities and a genuine bond, not a one-size-fits-all script. Dogs work harder for someone they trust. So do owners.

Which program is right for my dog?

That is exactly what the consultation is for. We talk through your goals, your dog's current behaviour, and your lifestyle, then recommend the option that actually fits, even if it is the smaller one.

What tools do you use?

Whatever the individual dog in front of us needs: food, toys, and play-based rewards, slip leads, prong collars, and modern e-collars. Every tool is introduced properly and used skillfully, and we teach you the same, because the leash goes home in your hand.

Can I visit my dog during board & train?

We gently discourage it, visits interrupt the routine and can temporarily set progress back. Instead you get updates through social media and personal phone or email check-ins, so you never wonder how it is going.
