Paying for board and train: what is published and what to ask
It is a reasonable thing to want to know before you call: what does this cost, when is it paid, what if plans change. Some of that is on this site in black and white. Some of it is not, and is handled person to person at the consultation instead. This page draws the line between the two, lists the questions worth bringing, and offers a plain way to budget.

Published or not
The line between the price list and the conversation.
On the published side: every program price. On-Leash Foundations $1,865, Puppy Fundamentals $2,775, Functional Off-Leash $3,030, Advanced Off-Leash $3,940, Behaviour Rehab $4,850 to $5,760 after assessment, Day Training $650 per week, Private Training $150 per session, graduate boarding $65 per night. All plus GST, with the listed tools and follow-ups included in that figure. The site also has a payment plans page; read it before the consultation. What each program includes is published as well.
On the not-published side: whether a deposit is taken and how much, when the balance is due, what happens if you cancel or move dates, and how a payment plan would apply to your booking. None of that is spelled out on this site beyond the general payment plans page. Bring these to the consultation, written down: Is there a deposit, and is it applied to the total. When is the rest paid. What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy.
- Every program price is published
- All prices are plus GST
- Deposits and cancellation are not published
- Bring written questions to the consultation
Budgeting plainly
Building a number you can actually live with.
Start with the published program price, then add GST, because the figures on this site are before tax. Then decide whether anything optional belongs in your number. Graduate boarding at $65 per night is open to graduates and existing clients, so a holiday later in the year can sit in the same budget line. A Private Training session is $150 if you want a professional eye on something new later. None of these are required; they are the add-ons that carry a published price.
Then some arithmetic, and it is only arithmetic. On-Leash Foundations at $1,865 plus one Private Training session at $150 is $2,015 before GST. Functional Off-Leash at $3,030 plus five nights of graduate boarding at $65 is $3,355 before GST. Those are examples of how the published figures add, not recommendations for what to buy. The honest wild card is which program the consultation points to, since a smaller program gets recommended whenever it is enough for the dog, and that moves the number down.

Asked and answered
The questions people ask us.
Is a deposit required for board and train?
Deposit terms are not published on this site, so we will not guess at them here. It is one of the questions to bring to the consultation, along with when the balance is due. Write it down so it does not get lost in the conversation about your dog.
Does Northline K9 offer payment plans?
There is a payment plans page on this site, and it is the place to read what is published on that subject. How a plan would apply to your specific program and booking is settled at the consultation. Bring the question along with the others on this page.
Do the board and train prices include GST?
No. Every published price on this site is plus GST, including the $1,865 to $5,760 board and train range, Day Training at $650 per week and Private Training at $150 per session. Add it when you build your budget.
What happens if board and train dates have to be cancelled or moved?
The cancellation and rescheduling policy is not published, so this is a consultation question rather than something to infer from the website. Ask it directly, and ask whether any deposit is affected, before you commit to dates.
