Every reliable off-leash dog started as a puppy who knew their name meant something. Puppy Fundamentals spends three weeks building that: name response, loose walking on a leash, sit, down, and place, and a crate your puppy is genuinely comfortable in, overnights included. Skills are taught with markers and rewards, one-on-one, and the program is $2,775 plus GST with a slip lead and training collar in the price.
The drive from Cochrane runs 30 to 40 minutes, and you only make it twice: once to drop off, once to pick up. In between, your puppy lives a structured routine with daily one-on-one sessions, enrichment, and socialization, and we send you updates along the way. Pick-up ends with an owner handover lesson, and you come back within 60 days for an included follow-up session.

A Cochrane puppy is raised around the Bow River pathways, Cochrane Ranche, and often an acreage with more space than fence. That is a lot of freedom waiting, and freedom is only fun when the dog comes back. We cannot teach a twelve-week-old a finished recall, but we can build its ingredients: a name that always pays, engagement with a handler, and calm around distraction.
Structured socialization in the program means gradual exposure to new ground, water, other dogs, and busy spaces, always at a distance your puppy can handle. Bigger dogs with bigger freedom is the Cochrane pattern, so we also coach you at handover on how to grow that freedom in stages. When your dog is older, Functional Off-Leash can finish the recall the puppy work started.

Do you run puppy classes in Cochrane?

Is three weeks away too long for a young puppy?
It is a fair question, and the answer is no when the three weeks are structured well. Your puppy gets a consistent routine, daily training, enrichment, rest, and socialization in careful, small steps. You get updates the whole time, a handover lesson at pick-up, and a follow-up session within 60 days.
