Why board a baby?
The window argument, honestly made.
The common worry is that a puppy is too young to be away from home. The counterargument is what those weeks are otherwise spent doing: practicing biting, chaotic greetings, and crate screaming while their brain records it all as normal. In residence, the same weeks record structure, calm crating, polite leash walking, and positive encounters with sounds, surfaces, and sound adult dogs, dosed deliberately every day.
Socialization here does not mean maximum exposure, it means correct exposure: below the startle point, paired with good outcomes, and matched to your specific puppy's confidence. A shy puppy and a bulldozer puppy get different weeks on purpose.
