Board & train exists for exactly this stage of life: you are busy, the dog needs hours you do not have, and Calgary is close enough that the whole arrangement costs you a pair of short drives.

We do not run group classes; everything at Northline K9 is one-on-one. For Okotoks owners the natural format is board & train: your dog moves in with us, trains every day on a structured routine with socialization and enrichment built around the work, and you follow the progress through updates instead of through your windshield on Highway 2A.
Five programs, all plus GST: Puppy Fundamentals ($2,775, three weeks), Complete On-Leash Foundations ($1,865, two weeks), Functional Off-Leash ($3,030, three weeks), Advanced Off-Leash ($3,940, four weeks) and Behaviour Rehab ($4,850 to $5,760, five to six weeks, shaped around a full assessment). Each one includes a handover lesson when you collect your dog and free follow-up sessions afterward. Most programs also include the equipment your dog learned on, from slip leads to Educator remote collars.

Picking your program
Match the program to the dog, not the drive.
Here is the honest drive math: at 25 to 35 minutes from the south end of Calgary, Okotoks is close enough that day training ($650 per week, Monday to Friday) is workable if your schedule allows the daily run, and private sessions ($150 an hour with a written weekly plan) are realistic too. Board & train still wins for most families because it compresses the driving to two trips while multiplying the training hours.
Choosing between the five: a new puppy in a new backyard belongs in Puppy Fundamentals, where crate comfort, name response and structured socialization are built early. A pulling adult who makes the Sheep River pathways miserable needs On-Leash Foundations. Recall for off-pathway freedom points to the off-leash programs. Anxiety, reactivity or aggression means Behaviour Rehab, planned once we have assessed your dog properly. Unsure which fits? We will tell you plainly, and sometimes the answer is the cheaper program.

Is there board and train near Okotoks?
We run board & train from our Calgary facility, roughly 25 to 35 minutes up Highway 2A from Okotoks. Your dog stays two to six weeks depending on the program, and drop-off and pick-up are the entire commute.
Is this basically a dog boot camp for Okotoks dogs?
The phrase people search for, sure, but boot camp implies harsher methods than ours. Skills are taught with rewards and marker training before any tool appears, tools are matched to the individual dog and introduced properly, and you learn everything at handover. Structure, yes; drill-sergeant theatrics, no.
How much does board and train cost from Okotoks?
The same as from anywhere: $1,865 for two weeks up to $5,760 for the longest behaviour rehab option, plus GST. There is no distance premium; the only Okotoks-specific cost is fuel for two trips.
What happens once our dog is back in Okotoks?
