Board & train is how most Strathmore families work with us. You drive in once to drop your dog off, once more to pick him up, and we handle everything in between: daily one-on-one sessions, a structured routine, socialization, enrichment and regular updates so you can watch progress from home. At 35 to 45 minutes each way, that beats commuting in for lessons all winter.
We will not pretend to be local. Our facility is in Calgary, and that is exactly why drop-off training suits out-of-town owners: you get weeks of daily training without the highway becoming part of your week. Pick-up ends with a handover lesson, every program includes free follow-up sessions, and our two-week program adds lifetime phone and email support. Distance stops mattering once the dog comes home trained.

Prairie realities
Wind, wildlife and a horizon with no fences.
Strathmore is a prairie town ringed by acreages, and the land shapes the dog. Wide-open sightlines mean your dog spots wildlife at the fence line long before you do, and the wind delivers scent from properties away. That is why recall is the first priority for almost every dog we train from this area: taught with markers and rewards, then proofed around real distractions until it holds at distance.
Acreage life also asks for boundaries: staying inside an unfenced yard, ignoring the road, settling while machinery and visitors come and go. Our Functional Off-Leash program ($3,030) builds reliable recall and off-leash manners with a modern Educator remote collar, introduced properly and taught to you before you leave. For dogs who mostly need calm household structure, we will say so and point you to a smaller program instead.

Is there a dog trainer in Strathmore?
We serve Strathmore from Calgary, roughly 35 to 45 minutes along the Trans-Canada. Most Strathmore owners choose board & train so the highway only features at drop-off and pick-up. Everything we offer is one-on-one; there are no group classes to commute to anyway.
What are the options for dog obedience near Strathmore?
Board & train covers obedience end to end: two weeks of on-leash foundations at $1,865, three-week puppy and off-leash programs, and advanced or rehab options beyond that, all plus GST. Prices are the same wherever you drive in from. You are taught everything at pick-up so the results transfer.
Which program suits an acreage dog best?
Usually Functional Off-Leash: three weeks at $3,030, focused on reliable recall around distraction, with an Educator remote collar included and full owner education. Puppies start better in Puppy Fundamentals at $2,775. We will recommend the smaller option when that is all your dog needs.
How do we keep up with our dog during a board & train?
You receive updates throughout the stay, so progress is visible from Strathmore. The program closes with a lesson that hands the skills to you, and follow-up sessions afterward keep things on track. Distance changes the drive, not what you get.
