A puppy in Panorama Hills or Cornerstone meets more people, dogs and noise in a week than a farm puppy meets in a season. That can build a confident adult dog or an overwhelmed one, depending on how the exposure is handled. Puppy Fundamentals handles it on purpose. Daily one-on-one sessions teach name response, sit, down, place and crate comfort, including full nights, using markers and rewards from day one.
Leash skills get special attention because the northeast asks a lot of them. Shared pathways mean close passes with bikes, kids and other dogs, and a puppy that learns loose-leash walking early never develops the freight-train pull that makes those passes stressful. When training wraps up, we hand everything over in an owner lesson, and a follow-up session within 60 days catches any drift before it becomes habit.

Knowing the northeast
Prairie Winds is a classroom, Tom Campbell's is not yet.
Prairie Winds Park is ideal early ground: open space, clear sightlines and enough activity for a puppy to watch without being mobbed. Short, calm visits there count as socialization. The Nose Creek pathway is useful too, though it moves quickly, so keep first trips brief and let your puppy observe from the grass rather than the centre line.
Tom Campbell's Hill, the off-leash spot near the inner northeast, is a later-chapter destination. A young puppy has no business loose among strange adult dogs before it has recall and confidence, and one rough greeting can leave a mark that takes months to undo. Winter shortens the calendar as well. Much of your puppy's socialization window will land in cold, dark months, so keep outings short, daily and non-negotiable.

Are there puppy classes in Calgary NE?
Not from us: group classes are the one thing we refuse to do. Every puppy we train gets a trainer's full attention, which is why our work is board and train, day training and private sessions. For northeast puppies, Puppy Fundamentals is the usual starting point.
Is there a puppy school option in Calgary NE?
Puppy Fundamentals works like a boarding school with a very short term: three weeks of daily lessons, structure and supervised socialization. It costs $2,775 plus GST and includes a slip lead, training collar and a follow-up session. We take puppies from every northeast community, Redstone to Bridgeland.
Our puppy pulls toward every dog on the pathway. Is that fixable?
Yes, and the earlier the better. Pulling toward dogs is normal puppy enthusiasm, but rehearsed for a year it turns into frustration and sometimes reactivity. Teaching loose-leash walking and neutrality around dogs is core Puppy Fundamentals material.
Do you offer puppy day training in Calgary NE?
