Does board and train help with begging?
Begging tends to be simpler to train than to keep, because the dog is not the only one in the house with a habit. The place command is the teachable half, and a board and train is a sensible place to build it: daily one-on-one training, a structured routine, and distractions worked in deliberately. The household rule is the other half, and no program can pack that into the dog's bag for the trip home.

Place through dinner
The trainable half is a place command that outlasts a meal.
Place sits on both foundation curricula. Puppy Fundamentals, three weeks at $2,775 + GST, lists the place command; On-Leash Foundations, two weeks for $1,865 + GST, lists place and working around everyday distractions. For begging, duration and distraction are the entire question. A dog that holds place for a few seconds in a quiet room has a trick; a dog that holds it while plates move and people talk has a skill, and a live-in program works on that progression.
Here is the limit. The dog learns place with us, in our routine, around our distractions. It has not practised the one moment that matters, your table at your dinner time, and it does not know your household's rule. A live-in program cannot stop anyone at your table from paying the dog: the toast corner from a toddler, the plate left low, the partner who caves at the whine. The place command comes home; the rule has to be written there.

Dinner is where the handover lesson earns its keep.
The handover lesson is where the place command changes hands, and for begging the first thing to do with it is run a meal. Not a feast: a quiet weeknight dinner, the dog on place before anyone sits, released after the table is cleared, and the table a no-pay zone in between. Day Training, $650 + GST per week, Monday to Friday, is worth asking about here: the dog is home for dinner every night, so place gets tested where it will live, and the weekly one-hour go-home lesson is where you report back. At the consultation, bring an honest list of who feeds the dog from the table, and ask whether that go-home lesson can focus on a home dinner. The consultation recommends the program, and a smaller one whenever that covers it.

Does board and train fix begging?
It works on the half that can be trained away from your table: a place command with duration and distraction, built in a structured routine and passed over at the handover lesson. The other half is a household that stops paying the dog, and no program can do that for you. Both halves have to come home together.
Is there a begging training program, or is this a private lesson problem?
There is no begging-specific program, and the consultation is where we say which format fits your house. Private Training is a one-hour session at $150 + GST with a written weekly plan, built for owners who want to do the training themselves. A board and train is built for a dog who needs the foundation skills laid in a structured routine before the dinner table is a fair test.
Will the dog beg again after board and train?
If food keeps reaching the dog from the table, the habit has everything it needs to return, because that is what begging is made of. The place command comes home with the dog; the rule that nothing is handed down during meals has to be made and kept by the people at the table. Begging may temporarily increase when it stops paying, and if it persists or escalates, reassess with a professional.
Does Day Training help with begging more than board and train?
It depends on the house. Day Training, $650 + GST per week, has the dog home every night, so the dinner table gets practised every evening and adjusted at the weekly go-home lesson. A board and train builds place inside a structured routine first and hands it over; which one makes sense comes out of the consultation.
