After the program
Can a graduate take a second program?
Your dog finished a program, the walks got better, and now you are eyeing the off-leash park. That is a different goal, and it deserves a different conversation. Here is how the published ladder works, what each rung adds that the one below did not cover, and when a follow-up session or a refresher makes more sense than enrolling again.

The published ladder
Each rung teaches something the last one did not.
The programs are published as separate builds, not one course split into chapters. On-Leash Foundations works on loose-leash walking, heel, sit, stay, down, place and everyday distractions over two weeks. Functional Off-Leash works on reliable recall around distractions and off-leash house manners over three weeks, with an Educator remote collar included. Advanced Off-Leash adds off-leash heel, sit, stay and down at distance, and public manners over four weeks.
So a second program makes sense when the goal itself has changed, not when the first one simply needs polishing. A dog who walks nicely on a leash has not been taught to come back while off it; those are separate skills. A Puppy Fundamentals graduate who is growing up may be ready for leash work around adult distractions. The consultation looks at what your dog already does well and recommends the program built for the next goal.
- Leash manners before off-leash freedom
- Recall around distractions comes next
- Distance commands sit at the top
- Rehab is its own track
Before you re-enrol
Sometimes a follow-up or refresher covers the gap.
Every board and train includes free follow-up sessions, and Advanced Off-Leash and Behaviour Rehab each list two. The Puppy Fundamentals follow-up falls within 60 days, and On-Leash Foundations graduates also keep lifetime phone and email support. If heel has gone loose or place has turned into a suggestion, that is often a handling question, and those inclusions exist for it. Use them before assuming your dog needs to start over.
Graduate boarding is another route, at $65 + GST per night for graduates and existing clients, with optional refresher work during the stay. A one-hour Private Training session at $150 + GST, with a written plan you practise all week, suits owners who want to fix the slippage themselves. If something new has appeared, such as fear or reactivity, say so at the consultation, because that calls for an assessment rather than a refresher.

Asked and answered
The questions people ask us.
Can my dog do another board and train after graduating?
Yes. The programs are published separately, so a graduate can take the one built for a new goal. The consultation confirms which program fits, or whether a follow-up covers it.
Do you have to do on-leash training before off-leash?
Not automatically. Functional Off-Leash is built for dogs who already have decent manners, so the consultation checks where your dog stands. If leash basics are missing, On-Leash Foundations may be the recommendation.
Is there a next level after off-leash training?
Yes. Advanced Off-Leash works on off-leash heel, distance commands and public manners over four weeks. It includes two free follow-up sessions and a remote collar.
What does a second training program cost?
Each program is priced on its own: On-Leash Foundations is $1,865, Functional Off-Leash $3,030 and Advanced Off-Leash $3,940, all plus GST. Behaviour Rehab runs $4,850 to $5,760 plus GST after a full assessment.
