Search for boarding with training and two questions hide behind the phrase. One: the dog is being boarded anyway, so could someone work on its manners while it is there? The other: the dog needs training, so can it live in while that happens? We offer a service for each, priced differently and described differently, and this page sets them side by side so the right one is obvious.

Two services
Training with a stay attached, or a stay with training attached.
Board and train is training first. The dog lives in for two to six weeks of daily one-on-one work with a structured routine, socialization, enrichment and updates to the owner, then goes home after a handover lesson with free follow-up sessions still to come. The stay is where the dog lives while the training happens. The programs are built for puppies, leash-pullers, dogs ready for off-leash freedom, and dogs working through anxiety, reactivity or aggression, the last priced only after a full assessment.
Graduate boarding is the other way around: a stay first, with training optional. It costs $65 + GST per night and is for graduates and existing clients. While the owner is away, the dog stays with us, and refresher work on a fading place command or a wobbly recall can be requested. It is not a program and it is not priced like one. It is a nightly rate, with the option of keeping the skills in use rather than giving them a holiday.

Who each is for
Eligibility, pricing and what the consultation decides.
Graduate boarding is for graduates and existing clients. We do not offer stand-alone boarding to the public, so the nightly rate is not open to a dog with no history with us. Whether a dog qualifies is a question for us, by email at info@northlinek9.ca or at the consultation. What we can state here is the rate, $65 + GST per night, that refresher work can be requested, and that everything is one-on-one, with no group classes.
For a dog that has not trained with us, the training services are the place to start, and the consultation is where a program is recommended, with a smaller one recommended when it is enough. Behaviour Rehab, the five to six week program for anxiety, reactivity and aggression, is customized after a full assessment, and dogs with bite histories are accepted into it after that assessment. None of this is a route to boarding. It is training that includes a stay.

Do you offer dog boarding with training in Calgary?

Can my dog train while boarding with you?
For graduates and existing clients, yes: refresher work can be requested during a graduate boarding stay at $65 + GST per night. For a dog that has not trained with us, the training service is a board and train program, where the stay is part of the program rather than the reason for it.
Is there a dog boarding trainer in Calgary who takes new dogs?
For training, new dogs are what the programs are for, and the consultation is where we recommend one, or a smaller format when that is enough. Behaviour Rehab accepts dogs with bite histories after a full assessment. For boarding alone, we board graduates and existing clients only.
What is the difference between boarding and training dogs in Calgary and board and train?
Boarding with training usually means a stay with some training added; board and train means a training program in which the dog lives in for the duration.
