Board & train

Board and train for Cane Corsos

Cane Corsos tend to grow up fast in body and slowly in judgement. The suspicion that makes them watchful can harden into something much harder to live with if nobody shapes it early. A live-in program gives a young or adolescent Corso daily structure, real-world exposure and a clear job, and gives you an honest read on where your dog stands today.

Early structure

Shaping a watchful young Corso before the size arrives.

Many Cane Corsos start noticing strangers in adolescence, and some begin deciding for themselves who is welcome. A live-in program works on that with structured socialization, new sights and sounds taken calmly, a place command that holds when guests walk in, and leash manners built before the dog outweighs the person holding the leash. The aim is a Corso who can watch the world without needing to act on it.

Puppy Fundamentals ($2,775 + GST) is built for Corso puppies in their key learning window. On-Leash Foundations is built for dogs who drag or lunge on the leash, and Advanced Off-Leash works on the public manners a dog this size needs at a market or on a patio. When suspicion has crossed into growling, lunging at people or a bite, Behaviour Rehab is built for aggression after a full assessment. For how we teach, see our Cane Corso training guide.

  • Calm acceptance of houseguests
  • Structured exposure to strangers
  • Leash skills before full size
  • Public manners at full size

Living with it

Keeping a Cane Corso's manners steady in your house.

Corsos often form a tight bond with their own people, which helps the handover. In that lesson you practise the cues, the leash handling and the guest routine your dog has rehearsed daily, so the structure follows the dog home instead of staying with us. Updates during the program and follow-up sessions afterwards keep us close to how the habits are holding up in your house.

At home, you stay the decision maker. That can look like answering the door yourself, inviting guests in while your Corso holds place, and keeping public outings short and successful rather than long and crowded. At the consultation we meet your dog and recommend a program, including a smaller one, such as private training, when it is enough. Bring your questions about strangers and visitors early; we would rather hear them now.

Asked and answered

The questions people ask us.

Do you offer a Cane Corso board and train?

Yes. Every Northline K9 board and train is one-on-one, and the consultation is where we meet your Corso and recommend the program that suits it.

What is the best Cane Corso training program for a puppy?

Puppy Fundamentals is built for puppies in their key learning window, with crate comfort, leash manners, place and structured socialization. It costs $2,775 + GST and includes a follow-up session within 60 days.

What if my Cane Corso is aggressive toward strangers?

Keep everyone safe first by managing visitors with a barrier or leash and avoiding situations that set your dog off. Behaviour Rehab is built for aggression, begins with a full assessment, and accepts dogs with bite histories after it. Never punish a growl, since it is the warning you want to keep.

Can I visit during board and train for my Cane Corso?

Visits are gently discouraged because they interrupt the routine your dog is learning. Instead, you get social media updates and personal phone or email check-ins.
