Advanced Off-Leash fits the owner who has stopped asking whether the dog can come and started assuming it will. The weekend errand run, the patio lunch, the Saturday market, the friend's acreage with no fence, the trail where horses and strollers share the path. In each of those, the dog has to carry the standard itself: heel without a leash where that is allowed, respond to distance commands, and keep its manners in a crowd.
It also fits a particular dog: one whose basics are already workable and whose temperament can take in a busy place without boiling over. Calm confidence is the honest prerequisite. Functional Off-Leash is the lighter option: three weeks, $3,030 + GST, with an Educator remote collar and a free follow-up session included. It works on reliable recall around distractions and off-leash manners, which suits an owner whose off-leash life is the river path, the off-leash park and the campsite. If the dog never heels through a market or holds a command at distance while you unload the truck, the fourth week works on skills you may not use.
An advanced dog is not a finished dog. In our experience, off-leash heel, distance commands and public manners are perishable, and they tend to hold when they keep getting used in real places at the handover standard. So the dog still rides along on the errand, still waits while you unload, still heels past the trailhead on the days you would rather not bother. The two follow-up sessions are a chance to sharpen whatever has gone soft.

Can a dog be trusted off leash on an acreage after this program?
Trust on open land is built the same way as trust at a market: heel, recall and distance commands are proofed against real distractions, and you keep proofing them after the handover. No program can promise a dog will never chase, which is why the remote collar comes home with you and the handover teaches you to use it. Wildlife, livestock and roads still call for your judgment about when the dog is loose.
