Day training
How many weeks of day training does a dog need?
It is a reasonable question and we would rather answer it honestly than neatly: there is no published number of weeks, and we do not set one before we have met the dog. What we can lay out is what a single week contains, what it costs, which questions to bring to the weekly go-home lesson, and how the other formats compare. The consultation turns all of that into a recommendation.

One week, itemized
What a single week contains and costs.
A week of Day Training is Monday to Friday, drop-off between 8 and 10 am and pick-up between 5 and 7 pm, at $650 + GST. Inside it: one-on-one daily training, obedience development, structured socialization, supervised play and enrichment, and manners reinforcement, with your dog home every night. Each week also includes a one-hour go-home lesson for you. That is the published unit; if the consultation recommends more than one, the rate is the same for each.
The go-home lesson is where you ask the questions that a number of weeks cannot answer in advance. What can the dog do now, and around how much distraction? What should get practised at home this week? What would another week work on that this one did not? We will answer those plainly, and we will say if what you are after looks like a different program rather than another week of this one.
- Priced at $650 + GST weekly

The other formats
How day training sits beside the other programs.
Day Training is built for dogs who need consistent work and owners who want them home every night. The board and train programs are a different shape: the dog stays with us for a set number of weeks, from Complete On-Leash Foundations at 2 weeks and $1,865 + GST to Behaviour Rehab at 5 to 6 weeks and $4,850 to $5,760 + GST, customized after a full assessment. Neither shape is faster or better; they are built for different households and goals.
Private Training is the third shape: a one-hour session at $150 + GST with a written weekly plan customized to your home, for owners who want to do the training themselves with a professional reading over their shoulder. Some goals point at one format, some at another, and some at a smaller option than the one you arrived asking about. The consultation is where we say which, and we recommend the smaller program whenever it is enough.

Asked and answered
The questions people ask us.
How many weeks of day training should I plan for?
We do not publish a number, and we do not set one before meeting your dog. Each week is $650 + GST and includes a one-hour go-home lesson, which is your chance to ask what another week would add. The consultation gives you a recommendation to start from.
How long does day training take each day?
Your dog is with us between drop-off, 8 to 10 am, and pick-up, 5 to 7 pm, Monday to Friday. Between those hours the dog gets one-on-one training, structured socialization, supervised play and enrichment, and manners reinforcement. Your dog sleeps at home.
Is dog day training length fixed, or does it depend on the dog?
The published rate is $650 + GST per week, and we do not publish a required number of weeks. How many we recommend depends on your dog and your goal, which is what the consultation is for. We also say plainly if a different program would serve you better.
Would a board and train be faster than several weeks of day training?
Faster is not how we compare them, because they are built for different households. Board and train means your dog stays with us for a set number of weeks and lives the routine it is learning; Day Training means weekday work with your dog home every night. The consultation matches the goal to the format.
