Day training is for the household that wants a professional handling the repetitions, the distractions and the timing on weekdays, then wants the dog back on the couch by dinner. You keep the evening walks, the bedtime routine and the weekend. We take the part that needs a trainer's hands and a clear plan.

The weekday rhythm
What happens between drop-off and pick-up.
Drop-off is between 8 and 10 am, Monday to Friday. Once your dog settles in, the day is built around short one-on-one sessions with rest in between: marker and reward work on the basics, leash skills with real distractions layered in, and calm behaviour indoors and out. Enrichment fills the gaps so your dog is thinking rather than waiting. Pick-up is between 5 and 7 pm, and the dog you collect has done a full day of work.
The week closes on Friday with a one-hour go-home lesson. Here the training changes hands: we show you what your dog can now do, how we cue it, how we reward it, and where it still falls apart. Then the evenings are yours. A short practice session at night, a walk that uses the new leash skills, and a few calm reps before bed keep Monday's progress from evaporating by Sunday. Day training works when both halves of the day pull the same direction.

Day or stay
What a week can do and what it cannot.
Day training suits the dog whose problems live in the ordinary: pulling on leash, ignoring cues once the doorbell goes, bouncing off guests, losing focus the moment another dog appears. It also suits the household with a nervous dog who would struggle to sleep somewhere new, or the owner who simply wants to stay involved every evening. The trade-off is honest: you are the trainer for the rest of every day, so the results track your consistency as much as ours.
What a week will not do is rewire a dog. Reactivity, separation anxiety and anything with teeth in it need the round-the-clock structure of Behaviour Rehab, where the routine holds overnight and the trainer shapes every part of the day for five to six weeks. Off-leash reliability needs the same kind of immersion. If your goals sit there, we will tell you so at the consultation and point you to the program that fits, even when it costs more than a week of day school.

Is dog daycare training in Calgary the same as day training?
No. Daycare is supervised group play; day training at Northline is one-on-one with a trainer, and there are no group classes. Your dog spends the day learning specific skills, then goes home with you at night.
Is there send-away dog training that comes home at night?
Yes, that is exactly what day training is. Your dog is with us Monday to Friday, dropped off between 8 and 10 am and collected between 5 and 7 pm, and sleeps at home every night. It costs $650 per week plus GST.
How many weeks of dog day training does a dog need?
It depends on the dog and the goal, and the consultation is where we set that. Each week ends with a go-home lesson, so weeks can be added as the skills stack. Deeper behaviour work usually belongs in a board and train instead.
Is there a day school for dogs in Calgary that includes owner lessons?
Day training includes a one-hour go-home lesson every week. You learn the cues, the rewards and the leash handling we used, so the same picture continues at home in the evenings and on weekends.
