Choosing a trainer
What areas does Northline K9 serve?
We work with dog owners in Calgary and the surrounding areas. The more useful question is which format fits your drive. A two-week or three-week board and train asks very little of your calendar mid-program, while a weekday program asks a lot. This page lays out what is published and what we settle together at the consultation.

Driving in from outside
Board and train keeps the number of drives low.
For an owner coming in from a town outside the city, board and train keeps the driving to a minimum. Your dog stays with us for the length of the program, from two weeks for On-Leash Foundations up to five or six for Behaviour Rehab, and works on daily one-on-one training inside a structured routine. Visits during the program are gently discouraged because they interrupt that routine, so there is no weekly commute built in.
Staying connected from a distance is part of the design. Owners get social-media updates plus personal phone or email check-ins while their dog is with us. At the end comes a handover lesson so you know how to keep the new habits going at home, and every board and train includes free follow-up sessions. Where those follow-ups take place is not published, so ask about it at the consultation.
- One trip in, one trip home
- Updates by social media and phone
- Handover lesson at the end
- Free follow-up sessions included
Weekday and hourly options
Day Training and private sessions depend on your commute.
Day Training runs Monday to Friday at $650 + GST per week, with drop-off between 8:00 and 10:00 am and pick-up between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. That is two trips a day, five days a week, so it tends to suit owners whose daily route already makes those windows easy. The weekly one-hour go-home lesson is where you learn to carry the work forward.
Private Training is $150 + GST for a one-hour session with a written plan for the week, but where sessions happen is not published. The same goes for exact service boundaries and any travel arrangements. Rather than guess, tell us your town or community when you book a consultation. We will say plainly whether a format works for your location, and recommend a smaller program when that is enough.

Asked and answered
The questions people ask us.
Do you serve areas outside Calgary?
Yes, Northline K9 works with Calgary and the surrounding areas. Exact boundaries are not published, so share your location at the consultation and we will confirm.
Is board and train a good fit if I live far from Calgary?
It often is, because the program asks for a trip at the start and another at the end rather than daily driving. In between, updates come by social media and personal phone or email check-ins.
Can I do Day Training if I commute from out of town?
You can if the windows work: drop-off is 8:00 to 10:00 am and pick-up is 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday. For a longer drive, a board and train may be simpler, and the consultation helps you weigh it.
Do you charge extra for travel?
Travel fees are not published on our site. Ask at the consultation, where we cover the logistics for your location along with the program recommendation.
