Straight answer

Is a 2 week board and train enough?

Two weeks sounds either suspiciously short or reassuringly quick, depending on which trainer you ask. Both instincts are right, because the honest answer depends entirely on the goal. Fourteen days of immersive, daily training genuinely transforms a dog's leash skills. The same fourteen days cannot build off-leash reliability or unwind reactivity, no matter what a sales page promises. Here is where the line actually sits.

What two weeks buys

Where fourteen days genuinely delivers.

Our Complete On-Leash Foundations program is two weeks for a reason. Loose-leash walking, heel, sit, down, stay, and place are mechanical skills, and a dog practising them one-on-one every single day learns fast. By pickup, those commands hold around everyday distractions: other dogs at a distance, joggers, doorbells, dropped food. That covers most of what daily life with a city dog actually demands.

The $1,865 price, plus GST, includes the slip lead and training collar your dog learns on, a handover lesson so the skills transfer to your hands, a follow-up session, and lifetime phone and email support. For a dog whose main crimes are dragging you down the block and ignoring sit, this is the right-sized program, and we will tell you so rather than upsell the longer ones.

Weeks to goals

The ladder from leash to liberty.

Match the weeks to the goal, not the budget. Two weeks covers on-leash life. Three weeks, Functional Off-Leash at $3,030, builds reliable recall around distractions, because off-leash trust needs proofing time. Four weeks, Advanced Off-Leash at $3,940, adds off-leash heel, distance commands, and public manners. Five to six weeks, Behaviour Rehab at $4,850 to $5,760, exists because anxiety, reactivity, and aggression are emotional patterns, and emotions change slower than skills. All prices plus GST.

Be wary of anyone promising off-leash reliability or fixed aggression in two weeks. It is not that trainers cannot teach fast. It is that dogs cannot consolidate that fast, and a rushed result collapses the first time the real world tests it. If two weeks fits your goals, we will say so and book it. If it does not, we would rather lose the quick sale than hand back a half-finished dog.

Asked and answered

The questions people ask us.

What results can I expect from a 2 week board and train?

A dog that walks on a loose leash, heels, and holds sit, down, stay, and place around everyday distractions. You also get a handover lesson, a follow-up session, and the equipment your dog trained on. What two weeks does not produce is off-leash reliability or resolved reactivity.

What can actually be trained in 2 weeks?

On-leash obedience and household manners, trained daily and one-on-one, reach a genuinely usable standard in two weeks. Off-leash freedom needs three to four weeks, and behaviour rehabilitation needs five to six. The skills differ in how much proofing they need, not how hard they are.

Would a 3 week board and train be better than 2 weeks?

Only if your goals need it. If you want reliable off-leash recall, yes: that is the three-week Functional Off-Leash program at $3,030 plus GST. If your life happens on a leash, the extra week buys little, and we will tell you that.

Why is your 2 week board and train $1,865?

Because it includes fourteen days of daily one-on-one training, the slip lead and collar, a handover lesson, a follow-up session, and lifetime phone and email support. The price is plus GST. Nothing on that list is an add-on.
