Aggression is the case where board and train either earns its reputation or ruins it. Done as a behaviour program, residence removes the daily rehearsal that keeps aggression strong and replaces it with controlled repetition of something better. Done as a generic obedience camp, it returns a dog that sits beautifully and still wants to bite the neighbour. The difference is worth understanding before you pay for either.

Aggressive behaviour stays strong because it keeps getting practised: the fence fight at 7 am, the lunge at the mail carrier, the guarded food bowl. At home, those rehearsals are nearly impossible to prevent. In residence, every trigger is scheduled, distanced, and managed, so the old pattern goes quiet while a new one gets built. That control over rehearsal, more than any technique, is what a residential program buys.
The work itself has a shape. It starts with a full assessment, because a dog that guards food and a dog that bites strangers need different plans, and pricing follows the plan. Then comes daily threshold work: exposure to triggers at a distance the dog can think through, closing that distance only as the dog's response changes. Honest limits
What a program cannot do for you.
Here is the part sales pages skip: aggression is retrained, not erased. A well-run program changes the dog's default response and gives you the tools to keep it changed, but the history stays in the dog. Management skills come home with the owner, which is why our rehab includes deep owner education and two follow-up sessions. If a trainer promises a dog with no memory of its past, they are selling something else.
Generic camps fail these dogs for a predictable reason: obedience is not the problem. An aggressive dog usually knows sit. What it lacks is a different emotional answer to the thing that sets it off, and that answer cannot be drilled in a group or rushed in two weeks. This is why we run behaviour cases one-on-one, on their own timeline, and only after an assessment tells us what we are actually treating.

Will board and train fix my aggressive dog?
It can change the behaviour substantially, but 'fix' is the wrong frame. A good program retrains the dog's response to triggers and teaches you to maintain it; it does not delete the history. Expect real improvement plus a permanent job as the dog's manager.
Does board and train work for dog aggression specifically?
Yes, when the program is built for behaviour rather than obedience. Residence lets a trainer stop the daily rehearsal of aggression and run controlled threshold work instead, which home life rarely allows. Ask any program how they assess, and what the owner learns at the end.

Usually because the dog attended an obedience camp, learned commands, and came home to the same triggers with the same feelings about them. Sometimes the owner side of the training was skipped entirely. Both are program design failures, not proof your dog is beyond help.
