Can you train a dog in a week?
Seven-day promises are everywhere, and the truthful answer sits somewhere between the hype and the cynicism. A week of daily, one-on-one work does produce visible change, especially in a dog that has had no structure at all. What it does not produce is a dog that holds those changes when a squirrel, a doorbell or a stranger's dog shows up. Here is what a week does and does not buy.

One honest week
What five days of day training actually produces.
Day Training is our one-week format: Monday to Friday at $650 per week plus GST, drop-off between 8 and 10 am, pick-up between 5 and 7 pm. In five days a dog with no prior structure will typically learn its name, a marker word, sit, down, and the start of place and loose-leash walking, all taught with rewards before any tool. The dog also gets a predictable rhythm of work, rest and enrichment, which on its own settles a lot of chaos.
What it will not produce is reliability. A sit that works in a quiet room on day five will fall apart at a busy park on day six unless someone keeps building it. Nor can a week touch anxiety, reactivity or aggression, which need weeks of controlled exposure and a full assessment first. The weekly one-hour go-home lesson exists precisely because the week is a start, and your homework is where the behaviour becomes real.

Two weeks, three weeks
Where the second and third week earn their keep.
The second week is where cues stop being tricks and start being habits. Complete On-Leash Foundations is a two-week board and train at $1,865 plus GST, and the extra seven days are spent almost entirely on proofing: the same heel, stay and place, but now past other dogs, through doorways, around food on the floor and in new locations. Living in the structured routine around the clock also compounds in a way five daytime sessions cannot.
The third week buys the hardest skills. Puppy Fundamentals at $2,775 and Functional Off-Leash at $3,030, both plus GST, run three weeks because crate comfort through the night and recall around real distractions need that many repetitions before they hold. If you only have a week, take it, but spend it on the foundations and plan the follow-through. If you want the dog to come home changed rather than introduced, budget two or three.

Can you train a dog in a week?
You can teach a few cues and a routine in a week, and a dog with no structure will look noticeably different by Friday. You cannot make those cues reliable around distractions or fix a behaviour problem. Treat a week as the foundation, not the finish.
Do you offer one week dog training?
Our Day Training runs Monday to Friday at $650 per week plus GST, with a one-hour go-home lesson at the end of the week. It is booked by the week, so a second or third week can follow if the first shows you what is possible.
Is 7 day dog training worth it?
It is worth it for a puppy or a young dog that needs structure, basic cues and a start on leash manners. It is not worth it if you expect reactivity, anxiety or a long-standing habit to be resolved. For those, a proper assessment and a longer program are the truthful route.
How much can a dog learn in a week?
Roughly a name response, a marker word, sit, down, and the beginnings of place and loose-leash walking, plus a daily rhythm the dog can rely on. Depth is the limit rather than breadth. Each of those skills exists in a quiet setting only until it is proofed elsewhere.
